Meet Dr. Stephen C. Ura
Dr. Ura is committed to excellence. He earned his undergraduate degree in engineering from the University of Michigan in Industrial and Operations Engineering. Upon graduation, he went directly to dental school at the University of Michigan and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1986. He has been selected by New Hampshire Magazine as one of New Hampshire’s Best Dentist’s multiple times.
Dr. Ura has been practicing dentistry in Nashua since 1987. He moved his practice to its current location in 1989. His main focus is on restorative dentistry and he has completed over 2500 hours of post-graduate education in restorative care. Dr. Ura is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. In 1998, Dr. Ura earned a Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry then in 2009 earned his Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. In 2016, he was awarded the Lifelong Service Award from the Academy of General Dentistry, an award that has been bestowed to less than 0.5% dentists worldwide. He is a past President of both the Nashua Dental Society and New Hampshire Dental Society. Dr. Ura also served the American Dental Association on the Council on Dental Benefits as well as chairing the Subcommittee of the Code. Dr. Ura is currently Chairman of the New Hampshire Dental Society’s Continuing Education Committee. He is a Fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists, an invitation only group dedicated to service and ethics.
Dr. Ura is also uniquely qualified to provide effective relief from chronic snoring and other sleep disorders, and he has a dedicated sleep center at his practice. Dr. Ura is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and he has been trained in dental sleep medicine at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Ura has also received training at the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain.
Dr. Ura is committed to community service and has served on the boards of Girls Incorporated, Immaculate Conception Parish Council, and was President of the Gate City Kiwanis, as well as a Nashua Youth Soccer League coach. Dr. Ura is married and has three grown kids and two grandchildren. (Their daughter Lisa Ura-Bollinger is an attorney in the same building). The Ura’s reside in Nashua.
Dr. Ura is a serious Michigan Football fan. He also spends time boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, works to master the game of golf as well as being an avid gourmet cook.
Suzanne, CDA, Office Administrator and Facilitator
Suzanne is Dr. Ura’s wife and Patient Satisfaction Representative. A Nashua native, Suzanne attended Middlesex Community College and earned her Associates Degree in Dental Sciences. She is a Certified Dental Assistant and continues her education regularly attending courses and seminars. She is the proud mother of three grown kids: two girls, one boy, and has two grandchildren. Suzanne is also a Notary Public; if you need something notarized, do not hesitate to ask. Outside the office, Suzanne enjoys her family, cooking, yoga and a little golf.
Catherine joined our practice in 2018. She has spent her career working in the medical field caring for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of memory impairment. During that time, Catherine would attend continued education to learn more about the disease and meaningful approaches. Catherine’s passionate background of patient centered care, is what drew her to our office. She has an eagerness to learn and desire to help others.
In her spare time, Catherine enjoys being with her husband, recording, creating and listening to music in their home studio, being outdoors walking her energetic puppy, and hosting get-togethers with family and friends.
Joshua, CDA, Dental Assistant
Joshua, a Certified Dental Assistant, has been an integral part of the team since 2006. He enjoys developing relationships and helping patients achieve their dental goals by listening to how they feel and what is important to them. When working with Joshua you will be left with a feeling of ease and comfort. Joshua takes continuing education courses to further his assisting skills, techniques and technology. He is truly committed to the profession, the patients and the practice. Joshua lives in Bedford with his husband, Todd. He is an avid yoga practitioner. He and his husband enjoy gardening, hiking and trips up to Northern Maine.
Lucy, CDA, Dental Assistant
Lucy is originally from Ukraine and is a Certified Dental Assistant. She has been a member of our team since 2007 and has been assisting in the dental field since 2002. What attracted her to the Center for Dental Excellence was the combination of high tech dentistry and a strong focus on excellent patient care. With years of experience in cosmetic dental assisting, she always takes the opportunity to further her knowledge beyond traditional dentistry. Lucy is a people person, and she loves learning about our patients. One of the things she enjoys about dentistry is how changing a patient’s smile can change their life. Lucy’s life is fulfilled with her husband, two kids, friends, outdoor activities, and reading.
Trish, RDH, Dental Hygienist
Trish received her degree from Boston’s prestigious Forsyth School For Dental Hygiene in 1985 and joined our practice in 2004. She is enthusiastic about dentistry which is evident through her charismatic approach with her patients. Trish also is passionate about continuing education and constantly seeking to learn for the betterment of our patients. She loves helping her patients understand why comprehensive oral care is so beneficial to their overall health. Trish lives in Pelham with her husband, two kids and two dogs. While not practicing dentistry she enjoys yoga, pilates and all Boston sports teams!
Lindsay, RDH, Dental Hygienist
Lindsay received her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from Boston’s prestigious Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in 2005. She joined our team in 2012. She is particularly interested in the science of dentistry and how it relates to whole body harmony. Our patients will benefit from Lindsay’s enthusiasm and passion as well as her commitment, years of clinical experience and continuing education. She believes in treating the whole person, not just teeth. Lindsay is a New Hampshire native from the northern portion of the state. She enjoys spending time at the beach, surfing and traveling.
Trang, RDH, Hygienist
Trang is originally from Vietnam and came to the United States in 1990. She received her dental hygiene degree from Middlesex Community College in 1998 and joined our practice in 2018. Trang is passionate about dentistry and continuing education. She has an innate way of connecting with our clients, so that she is able to fully understand their goals and objectives, as well as explain any treatment recommendations so that they are easy to understand.
We feel so fortunate that Trang found our team as she is truly committed to excellence. Trang has 3 children, 1 son and 2 daughters, as well as 2 grandsons. While not practicing dentistry she enjoys cooking, cross stitching, crocheting, knitting and reading!
Alexandra, RDH, Hygienist
Alexandra is a graduate of the University of New England where she received her bachelor’s in dental hygiene. During her time in school she immersed herself in academics, and in return gained a diverse set of skills that allow her to excel as a hygienist. Alex is most passionate about being thorough, making her patients feel comfortable, informed, and satisfied with their care. Her favorite part of being a hygienist is helping patients feel confident with their smile and improving their dental health.
Alex was born and raised in southern New Hampshire. When she’s not helping you achieve excellent dental health, you can find her relaxing, exercising, or spending time with her family. Her favorite job (other than being a hygienist) is being an auntie to her toddler niece, Winter.
Stella is our Chief Morale Officer (Cuteness coordinator). You may never see Stella as she is restricted to the non-clinical areas of our office, however, upon request a meeting can be arranged! Her duties include taking attendance of the staff every morning and motivating the team with her excessive cuteness, lovability and high fives. Once everyone is accounted for she retreats to her office until lunch, when she performs quality control of staff lunches. Her class III will be sure to make you smile! ☺
